CLEAN FEED
RAVISH MOMIN’S TRIO TARANA/Miren: Global village improvised jazz that has a lot of different flavorings simmering in this snazzy stew.  With many of the tastes coming from around the Mediterranean area without sampling the usual suspects, world beat ears seeking a new Sherpa to take them to new places might as well strap in and take this ride.  This is a very organic fusion that has a flow that couldn’t be manufactured.  Check it out.

DOMO
KITARO/Sacred Journey of Ku-Kai V. 3: The latest entry in Kitaro’s peace themed albums finds him breathing in the journey to the 88 sacred temples that much more.  As introspective as you would expect from one of the originators of new age, it’s hard to image this series running out of steam as long as it continues like this.

JAZZ PROMO SERVICES
BERNIE KENERSON/Just You & Me: EWI has been coming into it’s own with cats like Michael Brecker championing it.  Now comes Kenerson to step into the void.  A vet jazz man himself, he’s been working the progressive/fusion tip for years and is the kind of cat well primed to take this electronic instrument to the next level of the game.  Working out on a set of originals, by getting inside his own music, he gets inside the ax as well.  A first class set throughout, this jazzbo knows how to deliver.

NUGENE
IAN SIEGAL/Swagger: Still young Brit blues man that loves our sounds steps up with another ripe, juicy blues set that lives up to it’s title.  Practically a travelog through American blues country, whether hitting it Chicago style or splashing through the Delta, this cat has the blues so bad you want to give him an anti-depressant.  Many are called but few are chosen to hit the target with an aim so true.  Hot stuff.

DVD SUPPLEMENT
WARNER HOME VIDEO
THE REAPING: Passover comes to Britney Spears’ old neighborhood, and not in a good way.  No one is thinking about escaping Pharaoh as the plagues rain down on the locals while paranormal debunker Hilary Swank tries to figure out what’s going on as the count down to the worst plagues grows shorter.  A vermin infested thriller, some buggy stuff just works better at home when you have a little better control over the gross out factors.  A first rate, creepy thriller, it’s just the ticket for anyone looking for new pic to spice up their Halloween party.
