GEFFEN
LIFEHOUSE/Who We Are: Interesting in that Billy Corgan should pay attention to this set.  They started out as piss and moaning kids and now are in their mid 20s, made peace with their teen angst and have let success let them move on to more interesting places.  There’s still plenty of angst and love of all things British, but the trio has moved on, much like their fans have done and would have done to the band if they didn’t move with them.  An interesting set of a group in transition as youth fades away but finding maturing still brings plenty of things to be pissed off about beyond the realm of NIMBY.

GEORGE TENET (read by Eric Conger)/At the Center of the Storm: The former head of the CIA offers some frank talk about the war on terror.  This is real deal stuff for political junkies.  We really don’t know beans about politics but it sounds like it’s stuff from a real insider.  Biased by party politics?  You decide.  People on both sides of the political spectrum are sure to find what they are looking for on the subject here.

RONALD REAGAN (read by Eric Conger)/Reagan Diaries: Available in a standard and a deluxe edition (the deluxe includes some actual speeches from Dutch), this is the real look back at the 80’s, huh nostalgia fans?  Quite simply, these are the personal diaries kept by Reagan from his Presidential years, kept in the Oval Office.  If you are a real political junkie, this is the kind of stuff you’ve been waiting for.

MAURICE SENDAK (read by Tammy Grimes)/Where the Wild Things Are: Some things never go out of style, and one of them is Sendak’s kiddie classic, now on cd for the first time.  One of those great part and parcel experiences of childhood, if you dug this as a kid , you owe it to yourself and junior to pass the good times along.  If you didn’t get exposed to this as a kid, it’s a fine bet for a little quality time listening.

NEIL GAIMAN & MICHAEL REAVES (read by Christopher Welch)/Interworld: Here’s a great kid fantasy, a league of superheroes made up of himself and a bunch of his clones.  Joined from different dimensions and all united to fight evil now, here’s some proof that imagination is alive and well in realms outside of video games.  Cleverly written and crisply told throughout, junior will enjoy this dandy diversion that’s sure to catch his ego’s fancy.

NEIL GAIMAN/M is for Magic: A writing machine that is almost comparable to being a Stephen King of kids, Gaiman comes with an audio collection of short stories for junior that are wild, wooly, offbeat and always attention getting.  If selling enough books is proof of knowing what you are doing, Gaiman really knows his stuff.  Big fun throughout.
