CREATIVE SERVICE CO
JEFFREY FISHER/Fairy Tales: Multi talented cat does the music from the ballet “Hans Christian Anderson” giving musical illustration to three of Anderson’s best loved tales.  Known mostly as a new ager, Fisher has his hands in a lot of artistic disciplines and seems to know no bounds.  This is a tasty, left of center work for those looking for some non-traditional entertainment that goes beyond a passel of three minute pop songs.  Kids love the stories and the Disney confections made from them, let’s see how they cotton to this new music for them.

JAZZ PROMO SERVICES
PRETTY THINGS/Balboa Island: The band that would have been the Stones is still at it as well after 43 non-stop rocking years.  With their first album in almost a decade, they still have their arena dreams in force and can make arena sized madness at the drop of a hat.  Still pretty much working with their original line up, quite a feat for any British Invasion band, they have the simpatico down in spades and can blow any aging yuppie out of their seat with their certain handed sonic assault.  This is a dark record that emo kids could learn a thing or two from.
200708 (Zoho)

JEWELS & BINOCULARS/Ships With Tattooed Sails: Creative jazz trio takes on the lesser covered works of Bob Dylan for further sonic exploration in the instrumental realm letting his folk and blues moves speak for themselves without the poets words in the way.  With all the downtown vibe you could want powering the proceedings, this is a subtle ear opening experience for latte lappers that want a little more than Starbucks recent musical offerings.

MASHA CAMPAGNE/Caminhos Cruzados Crossroads: A Russian jazzbo with a love for all things Brazilian, she did the only thing a singer could do, move to San Francisco to chase her dream.  Hooking up with some like minded cats, the multi culti express train turns in a sincere Brazilian effort that comes together in jazz, whether mixing US standards or Brazilian standards.  It’s a certain bet for this set to samba into your heart with little effort at all.
633 (Impetus)

MASSIVE MUSIC
DRIFTING IN SILENCE/fallto: Falling somewhere between Eno and Todd Rundgren, solo mover Derrick Stembridge wants you to dance while looking at your shoes.  Ambient with dance flourishes that go throughout, this is clear cut contemporary left of center college music for those that are looking for that background sound that gives any room the club edge they really want.
