MARK ZUPAN/Gimp: Something for people that think obstacles can’t be overcome will be amazed by this non fiction hearing by the cat behind “Murderball” as he let’s you into his life and gives you the story behind the story.  Overcoming adversity to conquer several worlds in the entertainment realm, Zupan lays it on the line in the highly engaging style that he’s used to get him where he is now.  This could break him out of the cult ranks and farther into the mainstream as more people have the chance to really get to know him.

STEVE DOOCY (read by Steve & Kathy Doocy)/Mr. & Mrs. Happy Handbook: The co-host of “Fox & Friends” schleps his wife into the spotlight as the two of them give forth with ways, both off beat and traditional, to make relationships work.  Powered by the breeziness he brings to the show, this abridged version of the book zips along nicely and might not be the be all and end all relationship guide, but it’s a solid diversion and certainly no less valid than anything the ‘experts’ come around with.

ELIZABETH GEORGE (read by Charles Keating)/What Came Before He Shot Her: A dandy potboiler murder mystery from one of the writers currently and the top of her’s and the game in general.  Powered by the red herrings, McGuffins and dead ends you need to make tales like this move briskly, George does her part and leaves many others in the dust while moving so fast there isn’t any on her.  Murder mystery fans should set up for this commuters pal of a set.

JANET EVANOVICH (read by C.J. Critt) /Thanksgiving: A revised look at some comic mayhem of the past from Evanovich that’s a strike thrown right down the middle that will be gobbled up by her many loyal fans.  Loaded with all the touches that keep her at the top of the charts, this is well done chick lit by one of the genre’s pros.

JANET EVANOVICH (read by C.J. Critt)/Motor Mouth: In case you don’t want to go through some back pages with Evanovich, she’s got a new one that right up your alley as well.  A new entry in her “Barnaby ” series, she’s quickly running several brand names that are all delivering the goods.  A solid thriller that will never have you confusing her with Jessica Fletcher, Evanovich gets down to business in short order and keeps your headphones on throughout.  Certainly another new chart topper for her.

KYLE SMITH (read by Nanette Savard)/Christmas Caroline: A cantankerous sort rights right into her own version of “Christmas Carol”, of course updated for today’s women looking for a message telling them to slow down (or to have a chance to laugh at shrews getting their comeuppance).  A crispt, contemporary literary set piece, this unabridged telling in pure entertainment throughout.

MARY KAY ANDREWS (read by Isabel Keating)/Blue Christmas: If you’ve been following Andrews “Savannah” series, this is her Christmas version of what goes on around the holidays with that bunch.  Striking a nice groove with the characters, this unabridged holiday visit is long on the southern charm she’s packed into her stories making them such winning affairs.  A sure bet her growing fan base is going to dig it and spread the word.
